Hammer & Tongue Cambridge featuring Robin Lamboll and Stewart Carswell

Eight compete for a place in the Regional Final next September.

Robin is a climate scientist who merges their knowledge and wordplay to explore the universe and our place in it. Their poetry alternates between comic and profound but is consistently fact-checked.

They are the UK Farrago slam champion 2019 and came 2nd in the Poetry Slam World Cup 2019. Robin was previously Cambridge Hammer and Tongue Slam Champion and the Vogon Slam Champion. They are frequently upstaged by their own hair.

Stewart Carswell is from the Forest of Dean and currently lives in Cambridgeshire, where he helps to organise the Fen Speak open mic night in Ely. He performs regularly around Cambridge, with frequent trips to the West Country. His poems have been published in Envoi, Ink Sweat & Tears, Algebra of Owls, and The Fenland Reed. His debut pamphlet is Knots and branches (Eyewear, 2016).
