DISRUPT Festival line-up announced

We are pleased to announce that DISRUPT Festival is to take place again on Friday 26 and Saturday 27 May 2023.

Jam-packed with life-affirming, imagination-firing performance from the UK’s most exciting artists DISRUPT promises to thrill audiences with fists full of live art, theatre and dance from early til late.

Festival highlights include neurodivergent artist Demi Nandhra’s acclaimed piece The Trauma Show which explores the impacts of adverse childhoods, ‘therapise’ culture and how TikTok can heal us all.

Queer performance artist and clown ELOINA brings Offie-award-nominated HIGH STEAKS to the festival, a show about labia shaming, cosmetic labia surgery and labia-celebration.

Award winning theatre company IN BED WITH MY BROTHER present a work-in-progress performance of PHILOSOPHY OF THE WORLD, a new show about a band that didn’t want to be a band.

Greg Wohead’s new show In Floods takes the form of a live screenplay reading in which Greg fictionalises himself and asks questions about what makes us, breaks us or sustains us as life gets more and more absurd.

Having recently performed in Travis Alabanza’s work Sound of the Underground at the Royal Court, performance artist WET MESS returns with TESTO, a show about sitting in the confusion of gender and social conformity.

The festival will close with a special edition of Club Urania, Cambridge’s premier club for LGBTQ+ people and friends featuring a star-studded line-up of DJs and the wildest acts on Planet Earth.

“DISRUPT Festival is a true gem. A real hot mess of performance from some of the UK’s most exciting artists. Don’t miss your chance to see 12 brand spanking new shows over one weekend and experience a rollercoaster of thrilling emotions. There’s a gorgeous friendly festival vibe and we’ll be finishing off with a cathartic dance party for Club Urania’s return to Cambridge Junction’s epic J1 club space.” Ema Boswood, Arts Producer
