SQUIRE
Coheadlining the festival celebrating the 45th anniversary of Mods Mayday (the alldayer and the album) and the 1979 Mod Revival is Squire who were there from the start! They played the Mods Mayday alldayer, appeared on the album and were an integral part of the Mod Revival (and beyond) releasing classics such as “Walking Down The Kings Road”, “It’s A Mod Mod World” and “My Mind Goes Round In Circles” featuring Kirsty MacColl on vocals.

THE CHORDS UK
Also coheadlining is Chris Pope of The Chords with his version of the band, The Chords UK! He was also there from the start (1979) with The Chords who also played The Bridge House Pub, Canning Town, London regularly on the Mod Mondays. Labelmates with The Jam on Polydor Records, hit singles included “Something’s Missing” and “Maybe Tomorrow”. Other classics included the album “So Far Away” and single “The British way Of Life”.

THE KILLERMETERS
The Mod Revival spread from London to all parts of the country, including West Yorkshire, where this Ex Punk band hail from. The singer changed his name from Vic Vomit to Vic Vespa and never looked back! Just two singles were released, but what timeless classics they were, including “Twisted Wheel” and “SX225”! These paid homage to the legendary 1960’s Manchester Mod/Soul Club of the same name and the Lambretta scooter respectively! Support slots to The Undertones followed, before the Mod Revival petered out and the band moved into the new (old!) Psychedelia scene.

THE FACE
These East London/Essex boys (also ex Punks!) were inspired by the Mods Mayday ‘79 and played at The Bridge House and London through the second half of ‘79 and ‘80 including support to Squire, The Small Hours, The Purple Hearts and The Blues Band (feat. Paul Jones of Manfred Mann)! Playing one of The Hasting Pier Mod Alldayers to over 1500 people and a sea of parkas was a memorable gig!

THE TEAZERS
Famous for being invited to the Weller’s household after a gig in nearby Guildford and turning down an offer to support The Jam by Paul Weller’s dad, John! Another band who started life in ‘79 and were heavily Jam influenced, they recorded some tracks that never saw the light of day til singer, guitarist and songwriter Paul Hopfensperger released them on a 12” record “Teenage Angst” in 2018. The line up changed in the early 80’s and finally disbanded while waiting for the bassist to return in ‘83, he didn’t! Now, we’re delighted to announce The Teazers will be reforming for the first time, especially for this one off Mods Mayday!
