Become a sound tech at Cambridge Junction

BIG BANG THEORY WILL BE BACK IN AUGUST 2025!

• Are you interested in technical theatre?
• Are you keen to learn about mixing live sound for performance?

Big Bang Theory, is an intensive course focusing on the technical aspects of live sound.

Throughout the week, you will work with industry professionals Tom Carter and Ben Newland on understanding basic electrics, PA design, stagecraft, front of house, monitor speakers, operation of mixing desks, and the theory behind it all. There will also be opportunities throughout the week to gain insight and explore lighting design.

The week will culminate in mixing the sound for Cambridge Junction’s Fiver in our 850 capacity venue called J1. Fiver is a public event showcasing the best of Cambridge’s emerging music scene.

What You Need to Know

• This opportunity is open to young people aged 16 – 21.
• No previous experience is required.
• The course is costed as a ‘pay what you feel’ model from £100 – £200.
• Full bursary places are available for those facing financial barriers.
• You must apply for the course by completing an application form.
• Places are limited and we cannot guarantee you will be offered a space on the course.
