Arts Award

Cambridge Junction is delighted to announce that we are an Arts Award Supporter.

Arts Award is a nationally recognised qualification that supports young people up to the age of 25 to develop as artists and arts leaders. Through Arts Award young people gain a nationally recognised qualification enabling them to progress into further education and employment.

Arts Award is managed by Trinity College London in association with Arts Council England and is offered at five levels, four of which (Explore, Bronze, Silver, Gold) are accredited qualifications on the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF). Arts Award Discover is an introductory level.

At all levels young people have the opportunity to directly engage with the world of arts and to develop their own artistic, leadership and communication skills.

As a Supporter centre there are various ways that Cambridge Junction can help students to achieve all elements of their Arts Award.

Taking Part

  • Opportunities to get involved with our Junction Young Company, where professional artists and companies will help young people to develop a wide range of skills.

Enjoying and Appreciating

  • We programme a wide variety of contemporary theatre and dance as well as popular culture and comedy to come and see.

Behind the Scenes

  • Work experience opportunities are available to 16 – 18 year olds to experience how a venue operates on a day-to-day basis.
  • We have a number of Creative Choices industry Days for 13 – 18 year olds throughout the year which allows an opportunity to explore the inner workings of a professional arts venue, meet the staff and participate in backstage tours and workshops.
