With Queen Emma Primary School, Cherry Hinton Baptist Church’s Friday Friends and residents of Heathlands House Care Home We made a film that explored fantastical parties for a queen, the ingredients and qualities that make a queen, and memories of the seventy years of Her Majesty’s reign.
Led by singer-songwriter Yvonne Hercules and filmmaker Peter Harmer, and with creative input from associate artist Hannah Jane Walker this community project has explored people’s reminiscences of the Queen and her reign.
The film was premiered on 02 June 2022 as part of bank Holiday Jubilee Celebrations at Heathlands House including a vintage 78s set by DJ Greg Butler and performance by close harmony group The Knightingales.
This project was made possible with funding from Arts Council England’s Let’s Create Jubilee Fund via Cambridgeshire Community Foundation – ensuring that creativity plays an important role in local community celebrations for Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
