TBAP: You Think You Can See Us

Films made by young people from TBAP Academy

Cambridge Junction is an arts centre where art meets life. We are a hub for local people to come together, explore, and be inspired by the arts, entertainment and learning.

We believe everyone, especially young people, should have the opportunity to experience art. Working closely with schools, colleges and local community, our creative learning activity places young people at the centre of our work, providing opportunities to develop creative skills through hands-on learning, empowering them as cultural and community leaders.

TBAP Academy is an alternative provision with a centre in Cambridge that supports up to 35 secondary learners who have experienced difficulties with their learning and behaviour in mainstream school. Act Up is a project developed by Cambridge Junction’s Creative Learning team to support the young people to develop their own Multi-Media performance piece whilst building self-efficacy skills.

Behind The Scenes

You Think You See Us was created by TBAP Academy as part of Act Up, a Cambridge City Council supported project which saw TBAP students take over Cambridge Junction for two weeks. The young people made films, VJed, worked with video projection and created their own live performance. You Think You See Us explores the way in which young people are seen but not truly seen – and the labels with which they live.
