Come along to the Sounds of the City workshop and find our how to activate sounds with your own hand drawn circuits!

The Electric Citizens Takeover is the perfect summer activity for children of all levels of experience and they are really fun! Whether you have used any of this tech before or not, this  summer lab will guide you through a dynamic workshop led by  Dr Anjali Das, Head of Learning, Centre for Computing History, giving you the skills to create projects and help build Electric City.  

In this lab, you will learn how to create circuits with a range of conductive materials, write code in Scratch and set off the sounds of Electric City' 

This is a 2.5 hour workshop beginning at 10am and finishing at 12.30pm.  Please bring a laptop with you or other suitable device to support coding.

  • LIMITED CAPACITY - Only 16 places available.
  • Electric Citizens need to be age 9 - 13 at the time of the event.
  • Bring your own device: participants will need to bring their own laptop suitable for accessing the internet and running Scratch and Makecode. If this is not possible please let us know.
