Shave the Monkey formed in 1987 and performed throughout the UK and Europe playing at many of the of the major folk festivals including Cambridge Folk Festival for 15 years before finally calling it a day in 2003.

Shave the Monkey's influences come from many sources, including traditional, rock, early and classical music, as is evident in its unique style. Their command of over 20 instruments which span ten centuries, coupled with superbly crafted songs and tunes made for what could only be called an electric eclectic performance.
