Everything you need to know about budgets, funding and paying yourself with Jen Smethurst
(11:00am - 12:30pm)
This workshop will teach you how to cost your act, how to write a budget and the value of your work. You'll also learn about different funding options, including arts council funding.

Jen Smethurst is an independent consultant producer specialising in practices of care. They are Jeneral Manager of Sh!t Theatre and Support worker/Arts Council application form translator to many artists. They are co-Director of London Trans.

A guide to performing professionally in clubs and theatres with Ruby Glaskin
(1:30pm - 3:00pm)
This workshop will take you through the different offers, deals and set-ups you may encounter when someone books your show. It will look at the differences between clubs, cabaret nights and theatres, and tell you what you'll need to sell your work to venues.

Ruby is Executive Producer for award-winning theatre company Milk Presents and Project Manager for Raze Collective. Ruby has extensive experience in fundraising, tour booking, producing, event managing and programming queer arts and contemporary theatre.

Sell yourself!
How to get your name out there with Liv Morris
(3:30pm - 5:00pm)
This workshops gives you tips and advice on how to make your presence known. We'll look at how you use images, social media and networks to help spread the word about your art.

Liv Morris one half of award-winning alt-cabaret duo Bourgeois and Maurice who have toured extensively around the UK and internationally. They have recently released their first web series YOUTHANASIA and are currently writing a musical.

  • 5 – 6:30pm - Queer performers Network:
    Join Raze and other performers to hear from award-winning queer artists and find out what’s going on in your area. Totally free of charge it’s a great way to bring performers together to discuss issues across the scenes.
    Performers will often share their experience of working in the industry, it’s highs and lows and it provides a forum to offer advice and support. Plus it’s the perfect way to share performance opportunities and tips of the trade.
    A wonderful opportunity to learn and make new friends!

  • 7:30pm – Queer Performance Showcase:
    An evening of exciting new queer performance specially commissioned by Raze Collective.
