Queer Trash!

Date:Thu 20 Feb
Time:7.30pm
Venue:J3
Price:Pay What You Feel

Queer culture, not one but many, an amassing, an agglomeration, an abundance, an efflorescence in filth and waste and garbage all piled up.

In ever-replenishing, overflowing supply for queer writing, art, and performance, marginalisation as waste-separation—social and material, excessive and superfluous. All that glisters, scintillating seams in the trash-heap of history, and the abandoned and ostracised, reclaimed, recuperated, revalued, loved passionately. Queer trash in a profusion of permutations, inhering in trash or adhering to queerness, in any case soiled and impure, gorgeously stained, promiscuous, perhaps, certainly fabulous, certainly sustainable.

An evening of queer trash-themed performances and readings by:

  • Timberlina (Mother’s Ruin)
  • Owen G Parry (Fan Riot)
  • Roy Claire Potter (Shady Dealings With Language)
  • emcee Diarmuid Hester (University of Cambridge)

‘Filth are my politics, filth is my life!’  Divine

‘Just because people throw it out and don’t have any use for it, doesn’t mean it’s garbage.’  Holly Woodlawn

‘Baby, I am the garbage.’  James Schuyler
