Playing Kate is part of an ongoing Search Party performance research project that explores the idea of mother-trouble-makers, revolting maternal subjects and public performances of ‘family’ in austerity Britain. Playing Kate playfully disrupts neoliberal performances of motherhood as performed by the new royals.

Search Party have been taking part in a Motherworks residency to develop this work.
