Led by one of the world’s leading performance storytellers working with reconstructed traditional narratives, this brief introductory workshop frames the basic paradigms of oral storytelling, firmly registers the difference between orality and literacy and gives a taste of how ancient Sanskrit theories of Rasa can inform creative decision making. This workshop is primarily aimed at theatre and performance practitioners.



Category Busting with New Art Club

New Art Club will lead a workshop based on their latest performance piece - Cupid's Revenge - a show that is a passionate plea in defence of love, real love.

They will lead participants through a series of tasks related to the performance. Expect dancing, comedy, working with music, making lists, composition and telling stories about falling in and out of love. Perhaps you could bring your relationship problems to the workshop and ask Tom and Pete to be your Agony Uncles*.

Directing Solo Work led by David Gilbert
Wed 18 Apr | 6.30 - 9.30pm | J3 | £20 (Troop Members £15)

This workshop will explore how a director as an ‘outside eye’ can enhance solo performance generated from text. Participants are welcome to bring a piece of writing they are developing to focus on during the session, but this is not obligatory.
