Parkinson’s Dance Course
We are pleased to be supporting the University of Cambridge Museums Parkinson’s Dance Course this autumn.
University of Cambridge Museums are inviting people affected by Parkinson’s to take part in a short course led by dance for health artist Filipa Pereira-Stubbs and inspired by objects, artefacts and artworks from the museums.
Sessions start with minute exploration of museum objects. The stories of the objects inspire the dance session. We end with refreshments and a chance to look again at the objects. The dance is both chair based and standing, and we invite participants to work at the level that suits them best. Companions are welcome!
The course is part of a pilot programme.
Activities take place on selected Fridays from 10.30am to 12pm at Cambridge Junction:
- Friday 1, 15 and 29 November
- Friday 6 and 20 December
There will be a taster session on Friday 4 October, 10.30am to 12pm, at the David Raynor Building.
Blue Badge parking is available at the David Raynor Building and Cambridge Junction.
To find out if this is something for you and book onto the programme, please contact us by email: info@museums.cam.ac.uk
The workshops are free to attend, and for anyone aged 18+ affected by Parkinson’s.
