Cambridge Junction receives over £5000 from Cambridge Community Arts legacy

After 11 impactful years at the heart of creative health in Cambridge and the Fens, Cambridge Community Arts (CCA) closed its doors back in July 2025, celebrating a decade of empowering thousands through accessible creative learning and community connection.

As part of its legacy, CCA’s remaining reserves of £15,491.46 are now to be shared equally between three local charities whose work continues its mission: Sew Positive, CP Learning Trust, and Cambridge Junction. Together, these organisations embody the values that defined CCA – using creativity to bring people together, reduce isolation, nurture confidence, and strengthen wellbeing across Cambridge and the Fens. Creative Fenland is also part of the CCA legacy and continues to offer creative activities across Fenland.

Julie Brophy, Trustee of Cambridge Community Arts, said:

“Cambridge Community Arts has always been about people – unlocking creativity, confidence and connection in our communities. We’re proud that our legacy will live on through three brilliant local charities who share our values and continue to make creativity accessible to everyone. We look forward to seeing them grow in strength as a result of this funding, at a time that is so challenging for the small charity sector.”

Founded in 2013, CCA supported people facing barriers to participation to build confidence, express creativity, and improve mental wellbeing. Despite every effort to secure its long-term future, trustees made the difficult decision to close with dignity – honouring a vibrant community built through creativity, connection, and compassion.

Sami Yusuf, Development Manager at Cambridge Junction, said:

“This support from Cambridge Community Arts means a great deal to us. As organisations with shared values, we’re proud to ensure these funds continue to benefit people in Cambridge who are most in need, through creative activity that supports connection and wellbeing.”
