Lola Maury: BROUHAHA

Date:Sat 25 May
Time:6pm
Venue:J2
Price:Festival pass £25 (£10 con)

Finely crafted dances submerged in experimental soundscapes create BROUHAHA, Lola Maury’s new show.

Drawing inspiration from rituals and carnivals, BROUHAHA combines voice, multi-channel composition and movement to create a confused clamour. A multi-layered experience; a sometimes chaotic, sometimes harmonious mess of sonics mashed, spliced and woven with chimeric sequences of movement, BROUHAHA pricks up our ears and sets us up for double-takes.

Running through all Lola’s work is a desire to concert intimate and sensorial experiences for audiences and participants. Dense, visceral and evocative - her work explores possibilities to encourage an attentive state of viewing, keeping the spectator alert and with enhanced focus on themselves as much as the performer.
