Hazel Lam: Lighthouse

Date:Wed 24 Jul
Price:£8 | £6 (cons)

presented by Hazel Lam

Lighthouse is an expressionist piece about being consumed by plastic and your own desires. In this multidisciplinary work combining dance, circus and object theatre Hazel Lam works with an unusual material - PVC plastic tubes as props, as a partner and as an aerial apparatus. This piece aims to highlight the power in gentleness or what we usually perceive as feminine movement qualities.

Hazel Lam is a multi-disciplinary artist trained in music, dance and circus, one of the winners of the 2018 Troop New Ideas Award awarded by Cambridge Junction. She is researching the development of a common language across these three artistic fields through harmonious yet contradictory amalgamations that aim to push the boundaries of what each of these fields can be. Alongside her studies at the Institute of Philosophy, she creates performances that are highly visual and encompass the media she practices.
