Date:Sat 27 Apr
Time:2 - 5.15pm

Come and join Viva Carnival - Alegria Samba School for a fun filled afternoon of Carnival!

We will be running three fully interactive and accessible workshops. Come and join us…. all abilities are welcome and it’s totally free.

Carnival Percussion and Samba Drumming
Have fun and join in with our percussion workshops. We will be using boomwhackers and samba drums to learn some simple grooves and rhythms.
Everything is taught with the help of words and pictures, so its really easy to remember.

An introduction to Carnival Dance
Learn to dance to a variety of popular carnival music from around the world in our movement and dance workshop. Visual aids and vocal prompts will help you join in with our simple moves.

Carnival costume making
Come and make a colourful carnival costume for you to wear and take home. We will be showing you how to make head dresses and flags/ shakers.

After the workshop we’ll perform our new carnival skills and show off our new costumes at the ‘I’m Here, Where Are You?’ Festival at Cambridge Junction from 5.30pm - 6pm. You don’t have to perform if you don’t want to but we highly recommend you do!
