PREMIER OF THE CAMBRIDGE VERSION

When was the last time you walked backwards whilst thinking of the future? Can you play dead? Play Cambridge Now or Never! is a site specific geo locative app that will prompt you to play Cambridge before its too late…

Play Cambridge Now Or Never! invites you to taken an interactive ‘live art’ journey; reclaiming public spaces in imaginative ways through playful, even mischievous, instructions.

Artists Idit Nathan & Helen Stratford came together to create Play The City Now or Never! (PCNN) in 2015. Partnering with national arts organisation METAL and supported by Arts Council England they developed the PCNN App for Peterborough and Southend-On-Sea. The PCNN App, like the low-tech resources the pair have developed for Festival of Ideas Cambridge, CounterPlay ‘16 Aarhus, Wellcome Trust and National Theatre London, provokes playful engagement with urban cityscapes. Positioned at the intersection of art, play, technology and available as a free download through Google Play and Apple’s App store, Play Cambridge Now or Never! is a completely new version of the PCNN app, specially designed for WATCH OUT festival in collaboration with Cambridge Junction.

Download the Cambridge app to play from SAT 27 MAY, on your own or with friends, and prepare to experience the city in a whole new light!

- Doing the walk [with the app] was an odd experience. I am an adult skipping!
- Waving to drivers was a real giggle- all the things you don't do as an adult.
- I noticed various things I haven’t noticed before.
