Another instalment in the New Routes series, an evening of acoustic, folk and roots artists.

Set out cabaret style with candles on tables, it’s a comfortable and intimate space to listen to the best emerging and established artists from the area.

Featuring…

Max Bianco

Max Bianco who was born in the Northeast of England enchants and encapsures with his poetic, dreamy songs reminiscent of a young rambling, vagabond on life’s journey taking in one town at a time singing his sweet yet somehow melancholy songs about his love, life and losses.

Max is an artist and poet at heart and this really comes across within his lyrics. He is a self taught musician having mastered a plethora of instruments including Guitar, ukulele, bazouki, and piano.

Showing a tenacious energy and a passion for his music Max has travelled across the whole of the UK and Europe, busking his way from place to place. around bars and hostels where he was drawn into a world of mysticism, magic, romance and death in faded grandeur, the very essence of what resonates so deeply throughout his music today. There’s a certain romantic notion woven throughout his music coupled with a sense of debauchery, longing and despair.

Having played numerous and extensive gigs up and down the country throughout 2024 and 2025 including with The Libertines and Peter Doherty solo tours and performing at The Musos Soccer Six Awards in London,  has also been busy making and recording new music.

Max Bianco has taken his time to hone and perfect his sound and which he is extremely proud of. The album has been recorded with award winning sound engineer Jason Stafford at the Albion Rooms in Margate and features a host of famous musician friends including Tom Van Heel (Paul Weller Band) Alex White (Primal Scream) Charles Bueller (Dead Freights / Peter Doherty) and Axel Loughrey (Junky Love/AL Strange) amongst others and the first single from is set to be released on the 27th November via Bubblebrain Records to whom Max has recently signed.

“HAVING BEEN HANDPICKED BY THE LIBERTINES TO SUPPORT THEM ON TOUR AND THEREAFTER BY PETER DOHERTY TO SUPPORT HIS SOLO TOUR, MAX BIANCO IS A TRUE POETIC SONGWRITING GENIUS THE LIKES OF WHICH WE HAVEN’T WITNESSED SINCE BOB DYLAN BURST ONTO THE SCENE”

“The last true troubadour and working class hero we’ve been waiting for” – Peter Doherty (The Libertines/Babyshambles/Puta Madres)
“There is a great deal of maturity to Bianco’s songwriting – the way that he captures the spirit of a traveller moving on up the road is expansive and even cinematic”
