Halfpace Theatre: Building Ensemble Workshop

Event Information
With Halfpace Theatre
Building Ensemble Workshop: 16 December
Devising Techniques Workshop: 27 January
Whether you’re into devising, doing Shakespeare, performing in a musical or sinking your teeth into a brand-new drama, you’ve probably been part of an ensemble before.
This workshop will explore ways of building that nebulous thing we call ‘ensemble,’ offering strategies for creating a welcoming environment that allows creativity to flourish. We’ll go over co-creating codes of conduct, exercises and warm ups to foster team understanding and trust, how to take a survey of ‘who is in the room’ and a few ways of devising text and physical material as a group.
Participants will nurture co-creation and team-working skills. It’s great for anyone interested in ensemble-led theatre, devising, participatory or community theatre, or simply wanting to brush up on their collaborative skills.
Trailer made with the methods we will be teaching in the workshops:
“Brilliant, immersive, stimulating, easy to participate.” – Participant from Feb 2023 workshop
“Really developed my creative awareness & can’t wait to use it in my practise.” – Participant from Feb 2023 workshop
