Work Experience

Cambridge Junction offers a limited number of work experience placements. Work experience offers you the opportunity to work in a professional arts venue, to learn new skills and develop your self-confidence, timekeeping and communication skills as well as to discover more about a particular career or industry. A placement at Cambridge Junction will involve working across a wide variety of departments, such as Box Office, Marketing, Creative Learning and Programming.

Placements will run for a total of one week, but please be aware that Cambridge Junction is a professional arts venue and as such you may be required to work unsociable hours during evenings and weekends. The following dates could include the weekend dates, but you would only work a maximum of 5 days.

What others have said about their Work Experience at Cambridge Junction;

I have really enjoyed my time at the Junction. It has given me a proper experience of what the industry entails and how there are so many jobs that are as important as the performance. It is difficult to choose one of my main highlights as I have had so many but I think the one I remember so vividly was working with the tech team for the band Unknown Mortal Orchestra. I found it mesmerising how in the morning there was no structure and all they had to follow was a piece of paper however, by the evening, the stage was ready and the lighting looked fascinating. Plus I got to meet the band during their sound check, which was very exciting.

I would definitely recommend work experience at Cambridge Junction to others as I feel that I have now got a deeper understanding of what putting a performance on really involves. Everyone was so friendly and I felt that I fitted straight in! Working at Cambridge Junction has made me even more eager to pursue working in this type of industry.
