St Peters Cabin is an Autism Specialist Unit based in Huntingdon, that runs alongside their mainstream school.
In March 2023 we worked with 14 of their young people to co-create a film with Claire Nolan and Liv Ello, over 10 sessions. They learnt how to work behind the scenes by creating and designing props, working the sound equipment and developing camera and direction skills. Many of them acted in front of the camera for the first time!
This project was made possible by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation.
In October 2023 we worked with St Peters again, as part of our Take Two partnership. We worked with 16 students, with 8 in each group, and they co-created two films with Liv Ello and Jas Pitt, over 8 sessions. For many of the students this was the second time they had worked with us, so they were able to further develop their filmmaking, camera and editing skills while becoming more confident in from of the camera. These films were screened at the Total Arts Films Festival ‘Big Trouble Little Pictures’ in 2024.
