Pilgrim Pathways School is an alternative provision providing education for children and young people during their time in hospital.
Within the school we worked with 3 of their centres:
The Darwin Centre: an adolescent in-patient unit that offers assessment and treatment to young people aged 13-17 who are experiencing psychiatric, emotional or psychological problems that interfere with their social, interpersonal, and educational functioning.
The Phoenix Centre: an in-patient unit providing specialist treatment for young people aged 13-18 with complex eating disorders.
The Croft: a residential or in-patient Child and Family Unit that provides intensive assessment and treatment for children with complex emotional, behavioural and social difficulties.
In 2022 the young people worked with filmmaker Peter Harmer and artist Tink Flaherty to create their own stop-motion animations. They learnt how to use collage to develop the stories they created and used the cameras to record their creations. They chose the themes themselves and were guided by Pete and Tink to turn them into final pieces.
In 2023 the young people worked with filmmaker Jas Pitt and artist Tink Flaherty to create their own stop motion animations. They used different craft materials to create their images and stories, and bring to life their own ideas.
In 2024 we worked with Jas Pitt and Tink Flaherty to help the young people create their own stop-motion animations using different crafts materials.
COMING SOON! THESE FILMS WILL PREMIERE AT THE TOTAL ARTS FILM FESTIVAL 2025!
