Artist Rider

Artist riders are essential documents in the creative industries that support a high-quality, seamless, and safe performance.

By detailing specific requirements, they allow artists to perform at their best, prevent last-minute logistical issues, and support clear, professional communication between the performer and venue team.

Make sure your needs are met, by including your: sound, lighting, equipment, wellbeing, access, and hospitality needs.

Performing in smaller venues/stages may mean you will need to adjust your expectations of what is possible. For example, the venue may specify that they can only supply water to artists, or they may have basic equipment for stage set up. It is unusual to get anything from your rider in your early career but it is worth making and using one. This will vary from country to country and it is worth noting that the UK is exceptionally poor with honouring riders.

Sending your rider in advance opens up a conversation to manage expectation for both the artist and the venue.
