Filmmaking Taster Sessions

Our filmmaking taster sessions are an opportunity for young people to work with professional artists and filmmakers to co-create their own film. The pupils create their own stories, learn how to use the filming equipment and experience acting in front of a camera.

2022 Sessions

In 2022 we worked with 6 different SEND schools/provisions. Comberton Cabins, Castle School, The Cavendish School, Spring Common Academy, Granta School and St Peters Cabins. Each setting worked with filmmaker Peter Harmer to create a film in just two days.

The films created were then showcased at our annual film festival, Big Trouble Little Pictures where the young people see their film celebrated on a cinema screen surrounded by their peers, teachers and supporters.

2023 Sessions

In 2023 we worked with 3 different SEND schools and autism provisions. Castle School, The Cavendish School and Melbourn Village College Cabin each worked with filmmaker Peter Harmer to create their films in just three days.

We showcased these films at our annual film festival Big Trouble Little Pictures in June 2023, to give the young people an opportunity to watch their films on the big screen.

With thanks to TEES Law and D&J Lloyd for their support in funding these projects and making them possible.
