Club Urania: May

Date:Sat 28 May 2022
Time:11pm - 3am | Strictly 18+
Venue:J1 (standing show)
Price:Pay What You Feel (suggested £15)

Presented by Cambridge Junction x Wysing Arts Centre

Part of DISRUPT Festival

Join us for Club Urania’s first full club night in J1, featuring music and performance for LGBTQ+ people and their allies. After our first three sold-out smaller Club Urania events, this will be a night that will rock your queer senses so don’t miss out!

Featuring otherworldly performances from:

  • Symoné - a multidisciplinary circus and performance artist.
  • Harold Offeh - who works in a range of media including performance, video, photography, learning and social arts practice. More exciting performances to be announced.
  • WET MESS treads the line between sexy and monstrous, thrilling and uncomfortable. With a cathartic release of emotion, and a desperation to be desired, they perform seductive dance routines, power ballad lip syncs, and constantly ask the audience to guess again.
  • Midgitte Bardot is the drag alter ego of performer and artist Tammy Reynolds. Tammy is brilliant. They have a beautiful singing voice that often brings an audience to tears while contemplating all the vivid possibilities life can bring us. Tammy is hilarious, and can often be found leaving crowds collapsed on the floor while their guts explode from laughter. They have phenomenal timing, dragging the emotions of spectators from joy to despair on the turn of a second. Their work can be acerbic, invoking a revolutionary zeal in the most inhibited of people, bringing new horizons of power, disgust and the brute force of confronting our shared humanity on a dying planet. They also do drag.
  • The night will include music from a range of local and VIP DJs, from nu-disco via afro beats to (tech) house and other dance music with an edge. Including Lucia Blayke, who is our star DJ who will be delighting us with total pop bangers. Besides DJing, she founded the London Trans Pride festival and queer & trans night Harpies, speaks at leading universities as a trans activist and is a model.
