Are you keen to learn about mixing live sound for gigs? Are you interested in technical theatre?

Big Bang Theory, is an intensive course focusing on the technical aspects of live sound. Throughout the week, you will work with industry professional Paddy Matthews on understanding basic electrics, PA design, stagecraft, front of house and monitor speakers and operation of mixing desks. 

The week will culminate in mixing the sound for Cambridge Junction’s High Fiver in our 850 capacity venue J1. High Fiver is an event showcasing the best of Cambridge’s emerging music scene.

Paddy Matthews is a Cambridge based sound technician with over 25 years experience in the industry. He has toured with acts including The Streets, Motorhead and The Pogues, working on live sound at venues and festivals across the UK, Europe and beyond.

Having worked at Cambridge Junction for several years Paddy is currently part of the Cambridge Live team who operate venues including Cambridge Corn Exchange. He comes to lead the Big Bang Theory direct from running the sound desk at Cambridge Folk Festival’s Club Tent.

Please note that this opportunity is only open to young people aged 16+
