The Junction, Crucible and Kettle's Yard have joined forces in the creation of a new and ambitious type of artist
fellowship, with support from the Collaborative Arts Unit of the Arts Council of England. Through a unique matchmaking process the scheme generates collaborations between artists and technologists and scientists working in Cambridge. The collaborations are based around research and development for new interactive artworks. 2001/2002 is a pilot research and development phase for the scheme. The first three fellows, Simon Biggs, Mark Palmer and Alexa Wright were appointed to work between January and September 2002 to establish collaborations and develop proposals for art-works that arise out of their research. During this time they have worked with the organisers and expert documenters to help develop the methodology of the fellowships. We wish to thank the many generous sponsors of the New Technology Arts Fellowships. Latest News Simon Biggs has been awarded an ACE/AHRB arts and science fellowship to further develop the research generated by the New Technology Arts Fellowship scheme. 'Maelstrom', the work developed by Mark Palmer as part of the New Technology Arts Fellowships is shown as part of Intersculpt:uk at the Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester, October 10th-26th 2003 |
