Junction Learning and Skills Manager Marie Kennedy (right) cuts the tape at this morning's Cambridge Leisure store opening .
Today has been a big day for The Junction, supermarket chain Sainsbury’s has opened a new store opposite us in Cambridge Leisure Park and at this morning’s opening ceremony we were delighted to receive a £500 joint donation from the company and its building contractors Base Build Services Ltd.
The cheque donation was accepted in person by Junction Learning & Skills Manager, Marie Kennedy and Creative Apprentices Tom Deer (Technical Theatre) and George Stevenson (Event Management). The money will be used to fund JUMP - The Junction’s youth performance festival which will take place in April 2012.
“We are delighted that Sainsburys and Base Build Services Ltd have donated £500 to our youth performance festival. This generous donation will enable the Junction to hire in professional artists to deliver free master classes in the building on Sat 28th April. The festival is aimed at young people who are keen to develop careers in the arts and we look forward to welcoming lots of young people into the building during the day. The youth performance festival is being organised by our creative apprentices (aged 16-19) and the project will work with around 130 young people.”
