European Voluntary Service

Once in a lifetime travel opportunity!
The Junction, alongside other Trans Europe Halles centres, is currently putting together an application to take part in the EVS youth exchange programme. This means from December 2006 we will be hosting a young person from a cultural centre somewhere in Europe! This also means (and here's the really exciting bit!) we may send a young person linked to The Junction, to a cultural centre in Europe for 6 months to a year in 2007. If you are aged 18-25, are currently involved with us (as a steward, usher, cafe or bar staff or are in a theatre or dance group based here for example) and would like the opportunity to either develop existing skills or learn new ones in a new cultural environment this may be for you.

Other TEH centres involved in sending and hosting young people are in Budapest, Lithuania, Italy, Ireland, Germany, Belgium, Denmark, Spain, Portugal, France, Sweden, Netherlands, Slovenia, Estonia, Serbia, Slovakia, Romania and Norway. Whilst you will not earn a wage for your voluntary work, the EVS programme covers travel and accommodation costs, insurance and a small allowance and you will be expected to take a language course whilst away to help you fit into your new surroundings. If you think you might be interested and would like more information don't hesitate to contact me at T: 403478 or stop me and ask me if you see me around the building.
