Dance for PE teachers and students

Protein Dance Company performed 'The Banquet' to great acclaim at the Mumford Theatre on 29th September as part of The Junction's seasonal dance programme. Before the company performed in the evening joint Artistic Director, Bettina Strickler, spent the morning at Manor Community College in Cambridge.

Bettina was working with a group of girls who had little or no experience with dance. The Junction placed the workshop at Manor as part of a drive to encourage schools who don't have dance on the GCSE curriculum to discover what it can offer. Many schools incorporate dance within PE lessons and this workshop was organised with PE staff from the school.

If you are a MALE PE teacher and you would like to take part in a workshop aimed at helping you use dance within your PE lessons you may like to take part in a workshop with all-male dance company New Art Club (performing at The Junction in November). Please contact Paul Russ on 01223 245254 at Cambsdance if you would like to get involved. The workshop will be held at Netherhall on Tuesday 21st October from 5-7pm.

The New Art Club workshop is part of The Junction and Cambsdance's 'Dance Partners East' programme.
