The Junction has been selected by the Arts Council to help deliver a pilot national youth arts awards scheme on behalf of the Department for Culture, Media and Sport between 2003 and 2005.
The pilot scheme is for young people aged 14-19 and recognises a young person's participation and achievement in the arts whether it be through drama or dance, music or ceramics, textiles or film. It is hoped the Arts Award, which has Silver and Gold levels, will become the nationally recognised young people's arts award scheme sitting alongside other youth awards and qualifications, adding value to young people's records of achievement.
The Junction will act as regional delivery hub, working with ten key youth organisations in the area:
Cross Border Arts Funky Flamingo Volunteers
Romsey Mill
Impington Village College
Netherhall School
Parkside Community College
St.Mary's School
Classworks Youth Theatre
Red Studio Youth Theatre
