Hello folks. So the Junction Fivers are still going strong and the bands are getting better and better. We have some great ones coming up with "Indie Heaven" featuring Cambridge's darlings CaiMbo. In July we have the Band Competition 2007 winners "Hot Bang" coming to the Fiver with Flamboyant Bella and Comic Book Heroes. August has a powerpack of a band headlining it, "Big 10" with audio company from The Cougars.
So dont think that you'll leave it to next month, come on down, you know that you love it.

Here's some interesting facts from our past...
Legendary music guru, Mr John Peel, opened the Junction on The 14th February 1990.
There’s a secret message buried in a bottle underneath The Junction. Only 3 members of the original Cambridge Venue Group know what it says – and they’re not telling!
The club was originally going to be built underneath the Elizabeth Way roundabout!
Jeffrey Archer was on the 1990 Appeal Committee to raise money for a sound system and the second phase of development.
The first week included comedy from Sean Hughes, a Gary Clail and The On-U Sound System club night, dance, world music & rock.
Boo Hewerdine’s band The Bible played the opening night, along with No Dakota and Jack The Bear. Boo went on to write songs for the likes of Eddi Reader & kd lang.
The Junction had a few teething troubles. The bar carpet lasted just 2 days, electrical faults caused the heating and ventilation systems to work simultaneously and the contractors went into liquidation!
70,000 tickets were sold in the first year.
The 1000th event was a sell-out gig by Jamiroquai
The first time Blur played here they were 3rd on the bill and got paid £20 and a plate of sandwiches. We treated them a bit better at their ’97 comeback gig!
Dot Cotton’s 10th Birthday guest was Jimmy Somerville. Their 11th Birthday Party was graced by the lady herself – Miss June Brown delighted the audience with charisma and her DJ skills!
Ice T was first here in October 1991, that’s 15 years ago!
In the first 5 years (1990-95) musical highlights included;
Kirsty McColl, Donovan, Courtney Pine, Misty In Roots, Suede, Jamiroquai, Jools Holland, Pulp, Paul Weller, Manic Street Preachers (when they still had Richie), De La Soul, Galliano, The Divine Comedy, Radiohead (supporting Frank & Walters!)…
Comedy stars of the future who called here on their way up included;
Jack Dee, Jo Brand, Lee Evans, John Hegley, Mark Lamarr & Bill Bailey.
We also brought Super Furry Animals, Feeder, The Dandy Warhols, Stereophonics, Tricky, Gabrielle, Badly Drawn Boy and The Fun Lovin’ Criminals to the Cambridge Massive.
More recently we’ve had sell out gigs from Babyshambles, Dirty Pretty Things, The Subways, The Rakes, Nine Black Alps, Graham Coxon, Corinne Bailey Rae, Mogwai, We Are Scientists & The Kooks.
So, don't forget that we're always going to put on bands that just might be the next big thing. Don't miss out. You know you want to be the one saying (smugly) "Oh, that band, yes I saw them years ago, way before they went commercial"!!
