ACOUSTIC HEAVEN back to top

David Hughes
David Hughes is a true songwriter, a great guitar picker and the ‘Quintissential Middle Class English Rapper’(!). His sharp, half-spoken delivery and rhythmically-percussive fingerstyle guitar has won him a Q Magazine album of the year award and his acoustic pedigree is impeccable.
He has recorded and performed with some of the finest musicians in the UK including Eddi Reader, Dave Mattacks, Dave Pegg, Spencer Cozens, Chris While, Julie Matthews, Chris Leslie and Alan Thomson, and still regularly tours the UK and Europe with Bert Jansch, Pentangle and Fairport Convention.
Hughes has been described as 'One of the country’s wittiest and most able writers’, and has expanded on his songwriting skills to become a playwright and author with 3 books to his credit and regular performances on B.B.C Radio 4.

Graham Robbins
Four decades in the business have ensured that Graham Robins knows all about putting a song across. From the struggle and suffering of the Blues to the tender sounds of Tamla Motown, from country and gospel to more contemporary styles.
Graham began performing in the 60’s and has notched up opening slots for Amen Corner, The Herd, Geno Washington and Ram Jam Band, Long John Baldry, Georgie Fame and The Blue Flames, Jimmy Ruffin, Johnny Mars Blues Band, Otis Grand, Martyn Joseph and Colin Blunstone among many others.
In performance and writing style he has been likened to Van Morrison and Paul Brady yet retains enviable originality.
A powerful and uplifting performer with material that draws on years of experience, he has an outstanding voice that exudes warmth and passion and a love of performing that remains as young as yesterday.
