World Music Directions 3, the line up....

Fantazia Algerian Berber and London Funk in a great mix.
An expression of Berber life in the modern metropolis of London. Rave reviews from Jamie Renton plus a live session on the latest Andy Kershaw show. Fantazia play a breathtakingly rootsy blend of Gnawa, Chaabi and Dance which draws on the vibrant rhythms and rich musical tradition of North Africa. Built around the original compositions of Algerian oud player Yazid, Fantazia’s irresistible grooves create a sizzling party atmosphere that soon has any audience on its feet and dancing.


Daphna Sadeh and The Voyagers
Israeli Bassist and band leader Daphna leads this band in Middle Eastern dance music with her own original work. From the Royal Festival Hall to Diaspora Festival and back to the Junction, Daphna has worked with musicians from all over the Middle East, Europe and Asia to bring you this exquisite selection of original and vibrant dance music and Middle Eastern jazz.






Rio Platenses
Connected by the river basin, this band features Brazilians, Uruguayans and Argentinians in a Womad starring line-up. The fusion of South American music and original works is delivered with passion to be enjoyed by all.
Featuring Argentinian Guillermo Rozenthuler on guitar and lead vocals, Don Montefiore of Manteca (Freestyle records) on bass and backing vocals and Andre "el chino" Ticino from Uruguay on percussion. This band have played WOMAD and have entertained festival crowds, Latin club nights in London and all around the country, always to great enjoyment and rave reviews by all.

We will be having an Algerian Baklava and Mint Tea Cafe courtesy of Al Casbah and Bedouin, for all those in need of a sit down and some light refreshment and beautiful north african decoration.

Plus stalls... from Senegalese to Thai to Mexican, Fabrics to Instruments to Clothing and much more. Charites and Organistations from local community media to international disaster relief, preservation and fair trade.
