Capdown back to top

CAPDOWN are one of those bands that really do have a sound all of their own. Although they have their roots in hardcore punk and ska they dip into many other genres like rock, dub and jungle. Always energetic and anthemic their sound is a powerful mix of Fugazi’s taut, tight, rhythmic hardcore, the Rut's dirty, dub influenced punk, Madness’s infectious, dancehall crazy ska and the mosh friendly insanity of System of a Down. On top of this they share the same strong political stand points of all of the above.

Following the outstanding success of their debut album, ‘Civil Disobedients’ they cemented their increasing popularity with a consistent barrage of incendiary live performances. In January 2002, both Radio One and The Times chose Capdown as their ‘hot tips’ A Steve Lamacq Evening Session and 2 'Lock-Up' sessions meant loads of airplay on Radio 1, as well as local UK and European radio stations, aiding their increasing popularity.
