Summer Intensives Workshops run by Dance Offensive
Kicking off the Summer Intensives, 3 weeks of theatre and dance workshops for 13 - 19 year olds, Dance Offensive presents Roots, Rhythm & Style 2.
Today's workshops:
Urban Contemporary with Yamuna Devi of Shobana Jayasingh Company
10am - 1pm
Suitable for: All Levels
Develop your dance technique, flexibility and strength whilst focusing on the often neglected areas of creativitiy, style and commitment.
Tickets: £3 buy
Hip Hop with Cathy Waller
2pm - 5pm
Suitable For: All Levels
Fast paced and energetic! A class that shows you the emerging Hip Hop style whilst taking it back to its true roots. Cathy has trained in ballet, gymnastics and contemporary dance and is a founder of renowned UK Hip Hop troupe 'Surge Entertainment'.

Summer Intensives Workshops run by Dance Offensive
As part of the Summer Intensives, 3 weeks of theatre and dance workshops for 13 - 19 year olds, Dance Offensive presents Roots, Rhythm & Style 2.
Today's workshops:
Breaking with Samriye Dirie
10am - 1pm
Suitable For: All Levels
Develop individual style and sets through footwork, freezes, battle and top rock. Samriye has danced with Groove Armada, Lemon Jelly and more, as well as for film and TV. He is also a very skilled Capoeirista.

B-Jazz with Perry from JazzCotech
2pm - 5pm
Suitable For: All Levels
Perry has worked with legends such as James Brown and Jamiroquai and will be teaching his unique Street Fusion Jazz Dance.

House Style with Cathy Waller
10am - 1pm
Suitable For: All Levels
This is a style that has developed from Hip Hop through the years. It's a style that includes a lot of bounce, up-tempo rhythm and funk!

Caprobatics with Professor Tijolo
2pm - 5pm
Suitable For: Intermediate Level
Since its arrival in the USA in the early 70s, Capoeira has exerted a massive influence on break dancing. The L kick so often used today derives from Capoeira, as well as scores of other acrobatic movements. This is a chance to focus on the techniques and training required to achieve these impressive moves! Tijolo has trained in Capoeira for over 20 years and was the first European to qualify as an instructor in this unique Afro/Brazillian art form.
