The Magic Lamp

This Christmas, be transported to far off lands with a truly magical alternative to pantomime and an ideal family treat.

Taking a traditional Iraqi variant and using an ancient Middle Eastern version of the text, Indefinite Articles approach Aladdin in a unique way. The Magic Lamp is the story of a blessed and beautiful boy who, through serendipity alone, ends up with a lamp-dwellling genie at his disposal.

Played out in a Bedouin tent with a set filled with billowing muslin drapes, this bewitching shadow play is told using light, paper and oil. From these simplest of ingredients, Indefinite Articles conjures up fantastical characters, shimmering transformations, souks, caves, palaces and deserts choreographed to haunting original music.

Ideal for ages 5 - 11.

Music

Powerful atmospheric rock

Powerful atmospheric rock with a Celtic edge, influenced by Pink Floyd, Deep Purple and Genesis, and reminiscent of '70s Fleetwood Mac and Fairport Convention - difficult to pigeonhole, and although Mostly Autumn wears its influences on its sleeve, the originality far outweighs this. Mostly Autumn's sound incorporates the uses of flute, low and penny whistles, violins and vocal harmonies - over a powerful band, existing of keyboards, two guitarists, bass and drums.

Under 14’s must be accompanied by an adult. Bar open from 7pm.
