Everybody Moving On
Each season we host a selection of innovative developmental showcases from regional artists. Join us for a taster of interdisciplinary, experimental work.
Everybody Moving On is not about anything specific, it's about what it means to be human. Revealing the indispositions only shared between two friends; daily frustrations are described, sung and laughted at. The piece swings from the most common of territories into the absurd.
After 8 years of working as one half of Ben and Holly, Holly Darton is exploring new collaborations with live artist Jenny Hunt, as part of her Escalator development.
Suitable for ages 16+ only. Bar open from 7pm.
Music
Alice Russell has gained an enviable reputation as one of the hottest singers in the UK right now. Her tracks with the Quantic and Quantic Soul Orchestra projects helped elevate her profile further. Alice’s lavishly soulful voice is both timeless and up to the minute modern. Live or on record, she always performs with her trademark self assurance and sass. Her style is a predominantly bluesy, soul lament but encompasses everything from funk to gospel to jazz and beyond. Her performances captivate the audience and command its attention.
Under 14’s must be accompanied by an adult. Bar open from 7pm.
Music
A performer like no other
Shades of Springsteen, Knopfler and Dave Matthews there may be – but Martyn Joseph is a performer like no other. A mean guitar player with a powerful voice, Bob Harris has praised the “outstanding lyrical intelligence” of his songs, which can range from rock to blues, jazz and even, according to one critic, “funk folk”!
Under 14’s must be accompanied by an adult. Bar open from 7pm.
