Escalator Dance

Escalator is an Arts Council England, East initiative which aims to find, support and invest in artists and artform development through a range of programmes across all artforms.
Dance artists and producers have previously been eligible to apply to Escalator Performing Arts. This is the first time a specific dance-focussed strand has been piloted, with the aim of attracting new dance talent onto the Escalator programme and into the region. This dance-specific callout is a pilot and will be evaluated for future learning.
Escalator Dance is open to practitioners either based in the region, or in London or the South East. This is an open application process for artists already based in the Eastern region. Artists based outside the Eastern region can only apply if they have been nominated by one of the partner organisations (ADAD, Akademi, Dance East, Dance Digital, Greenwich Dance, Laban, South East Dance, The Place Artist Development).
