My Future
By August 2011 I'll become a vibrant village where artists and young people can share experiences through seeing a wide range of live performance, creating work, and engaging in learning, discussion and debate.
The club, comedy, dance, live music and theatre programme will focus on presenting exceptional work.
The presentation of established national and international artists will be complemented by work created by emerging artists primarily from the East region.
The programme will become increasingly event led, be that through the presentation of “event clubs” that attract a specialist audience from a wide geographic area, the commissioning and presenting of theatre, dance and music of national significance, or the creation of linked series of events programmed by leading artists. This will be achieved through creating partnerships with major arts organisations in the UK and abroad.
The programme will be enhanced by working in partnership with a cohort of associate artists and companies to produce coherent programmes of work, that cross the boundaries of club, comedy, dance, live music and theatre. I will increase the opportunities I offer young people, primarily aged 13 plus, to take part in the arts and create their own work. Young people will be given the opportunity to work with a range of artists, developing their skills and talents and making positive changes in their lives.
I, The Junction will become a place where young people and artists want to be!
